Alexa and Alex!!
WOW. You transported our jaws straight to the floor and our hearts right back to Haiku! The photos are PHENOMENAL! Browsing the gallery was like reliving the best night of our lives and getting to see it from a new perspective, all at once. We opened a small bottle of champagne, lit some candles, put on some of the music that played at the wedding, and threw it up on the big screen. Everything came rushing back in the best way.
It was so much fun to get a peek at each other's getting ready process for the first time! I'm going to (try to) keep this message (relatively) brief, although we could easily fawn, at length, over each shot individually. It's truly impossible to pick favorites.
The colors are all working so well. The lighting was perfect. (The dappled sunshine in our hair in the shot with us in the magnolia tree!!! The clear blue window behind us, and the full force of the sun on the gorgeous yellow sofa, in the shot of the first dance! The morning sun over Papa's house!! And, of course, the twinkling bubbles in that excellent send-off shot ringing in the gallery!) Everything just looks exactly how it felt. And we couldn't ask for more.
All the posed shots turned out SO. DAMN. GOOD. And it was such a joy to see so many candid smiles! And the POLAROIDS! (We can't believe you snagged one during our first dance — unreal! That shot is perfect! The lighting is so dreamy and we love how we're framed by the support beams and their shadows.) We could definitely gush like that about every single pic.
We also really appreciate that you included some photos of our guests in this first look — this gives us something fun to share with those who were featured in them while we wait for the full gallery. Thinking, especially, of the shot of our officiant and the photo of two of our friends and their baby (with us off to the side and a beautiful view of Kat's earring and my rings!) Overall, it was a perfect mix of poses, candids, us, our guests, scripted moments (cake cutting, first dance), and dance floor shots. Thank you so much for the care you put into this selection, we're sure it wasn't easy to prioritize, but it's just awesome.
Also... Alex was right! It was so worth getting partly soaked for that B&W shot of us up against the waterfall with the water crashing all around us. I look at that and I want to be there again — freezing wind and spray be damned! All the Looking Glass shots are perfect. I love the way the colors came out and it's incredible how you can just perfectly see Kat's engagement ring in the one of us kissing.
We honestly can't stop looking at the photos, and there's so much to say about each one. I'll stop here: We are already SO happy, and we can't wait to see what's next. I'm not sure how coherent this email was, but at some point I've got to press send, so here you go.

Thank you so much for photographing our wedding. We truly cannot imagine having had anyone else (and goodness knows the pictures wouldn't be nearly as incredible). These previews are stunning--I never knew we could look so good haha. I can't wait to see the rest but wow these samples are better than I could have hoped for!! I'm sure we'll talk more as the full gallery comes out and whatnot, and I'm sure Luke is writing a much more eloquent email but I just had to emphasize how thrilled I am. I always go back to the ole Shakespeare well but, "I can no other answer make but thanks and thanks and ever thanks"!

Alexa was a true professional throughout the entire process. From researching and recommending shooting locations, to personal check-ins leading up to our shoot date, to ensuring we were comfortable the day-of, she was everything we could have asked for and more. On top of that, she's an incredibly talented photographer who stopped at nothing to make our session (literally) picture perfect.
From closeup, more intimate shots, to action shots in motion, to sweeping landscape shots, her pictures told the story that we wanted. Our dream was for our day to be documented primarily on 35 mm film and Super8 for a nostalgic, 70’s-esque camper van elopement. Alexa understood immediately the vibe we were going for and took on the challenge with excitement. She had so many creative ideas to add and was willing to try new things to make our day even more rad. Our elopement day faced some challenging weather from hurricane Ida, however Alexa was able to be extremely flexible with us as we had to elope a day earlier. The way she captured every physical detail, every candid moment, and every emotion into photos we get to keep forever… is truly amazing and exceeded our expectations in every way! She captured everything so naturally and the cameras never felt like a distraction. In fact, we feel it added to the whole experience perfectly. We were absolutely, positively GUSHING over the polaroids you took. Completely amazing. I showed my sister immediately, we're so in love. Some of those photos are my favorites ever to be taken of Tomás and I. I'm beyond grateful to you for capturing these moments.

I mean... If I could give 100 stars, I would. Like not even kidding, I'm not one to write a review often but Alexa is AMAZING. Seriously, out of this world awesome at what she does. We completed both our engagement photos and wedding photos with her and I honestly can't even begin to tell you what a positive experience it was and continues to be. She is so incredibly talented and managed to make two people who feel relatively awkward in front of a camera feel like the camera didn't even exist.
